Tapioca flour can be used to make taro balls , pearls, put chai ko, and bika ambon. The dim sum made from tapioca flour is crystal clear, and the mouthfeel is chewy. Tapioca flour can also be used for frying and adding water for thickening purpose in cooking.
Substitutes:
You can use other starches such as corn flour and potato flour instead. If you are not obsessed with the transparency and elasticity brought up by tapioca flour, you can actually use plain flour instead.
