Features: Condensed milk is a kind of “concentrated milk”. It is made by removing most of the water from fresh milk, condensing it to about 25-40% of the original volume of dairy products, and then adding sucrose.
Uses:
Can be used to make cheesecakes, bread, ice cream, pudding, etc. It can also be consumed directly or mixed with hot beverages.
Substitutes:
You can make condensed milk from scratch. Pour milk and sugar into the pot and cook until slightly sticky light yellow liquid , that will be condensed milk.
Notes:
Condensed milk is usually filled in tin cans, which is prone to spoilage and contamination after opening. After use, it is recommended to store in a closed glass jar and refrigerated.
